Marching to the Midwest
This week, United heads to Columbus to take on the Crew. Both teams earned a point in their most recent matches: D.C. in a match that ended 2-2 at home against Houston, and the Crew via a somewhat less exciting 0-0 draw in Philadelphia.
Columbus is having the stronger start to the season, undefeated thus far under the guidance of coach Gregg Berhalter. The future of the team is still unclear, but the city has partnered with a local law firm to fight owner Anthony Precourt's plans to relocate the Crew to Austin.
Given Chris Durkin's strong showing in the final twenty minutes of last week's game and Junior Moreno's recent hamstring injury, United coach Ben Olsen is expected to give the homegrown youngster his first MLS start. Many supporters would love to see that happen!

It's Cold in Here - Who Opened the International Window?
Both D.C. and Columbus will have gaps to fill on the field this weekend, due to a variety of international call-ups. Columbus will be short Zach Steffen and Wil Trapp, who are on the USMNT roster for next week's friendly against Panama.
United will be missing Zoltan Stieber, Ulises Segura and Oniel Fisher, who have been called up for games with Hungary, Costa Rica and Jamaica, respectively. Paul Arriola has not been called up for next week's USMNT game, and is generally expected to start in Stieber's place.
Also exciting to hear of the call-ups of two Black-and-Red players who have been loaned to the Richmond Kickers. Dane Kelly has been called up for Jamaica, and Bruno Miranda for Bolivia. Good luck playing in both River City and for their national teams!
