Have Plans for Saturday?
Kansas City Crash
In a game that provided unfortunate echoes of 2017, the Black-and-Red gave up an early goal on Saturday. A 3rd-minute cross from Felipe Gutierrez ricocheted off the legs of the unfortunate Frederic Brillant and found the net. With just 37% possession, United could not manage a comeback, falling to Sporting KC by a 1-0 margin.
Early in the second half, Lucho Acosta found himself with the ball at his feet and only the SKC keeper to beat, but his attempt managed to go over the net instead.
Coach Ben Olsen made just one change to his lineup, starting Ulises Segura for Ian Harkes in the midfield. Chris Durkin notched his second career start, and Jamaican striker Dane Kelly saw his first action of the season, coming in for Joseph Mora in the second half.
The boys in black have next Saturday off, as the Toronto game has been rescheduled for June 13th. However, we've got plans and we hope you'll join us...
Mark your calendars! Please join us this Saturday for a discussion about the strategic partnership, the supporters' section at Audi Field, and an independent supporters council. SE President James Lambert will be in attendance to answer questions, but this is intended as a supporter discussion - we want to hear what you have to say.
This event is open to all United supporters, regardless of supporters' group affiliation.

Score a Meal for DC SCORES
Nando's Peri-Peri, Afro-Portuguese purveyors of tasty chicken, have opened at a new location in Rosslyn. In mid-April, they're partnering with D.C. United and having a delicious fundraiser to benefit DC SCORES!
With players from the Black-and-Red in attendance (details TBA), Nando's is generously donating all proceeds from the day's sales to DC SCORES.
So please stop in, grab lunch (or dinner - or both) and a photo with one of your favorite players, and help out local kids!
