Screaming Eagles News and Events
In case you haven't seen the news, single game tickets for the Audi Field supporters' section are available! You can now purchase tickets online to stand in the North Stands or sit in The Perch. The field markings were added this week, and the stadium is looking good.
DC SCORES and More
Saturday saw the successful completion of another DC SCORES Cup! Over 700 participants on a record 46 teams took part in an all-day soccer tournament. The event raised $175,000 for the kids of DC SCORES! You can take a look at our photo album here, and see even more photographs from the official DC SCORES album.
This week, DC SCORES kicks off Summer SCORES, which provides free soccer camps and arts/soccer camps to local kids. You can learn more about Summer SCORES here.

Here's the part where we really need each and every one of you to step up this week to help fellow members of the Black-and-Red community:
Big Rob, who many will recognize from Lot 8 and RFK as a leader supporting D.C. United from its inception, is in the fight of his life against leukemia. Help is needed to defray the costs of ongoing medical care and living expenses. You can donate here, or check out the fantastic auction of autographed jerseys that United has put together from players all around the league.
Gail Rongen, wife of former United Coach Thomas Rongen, also needs our help. Gail suffers from Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease, and is in need of a kidney transplant. You can help by registering as a donor and getting tested for compatibility at kidney.org.
In the News
We are saddened to report that United defender Taylor Kemp, who had not yet seen field time this season due to a nagging injury, is officially out for 2018. Kemp had labrum surgery June 21st, and we wish him all the best!

United has hired Rodrigo Robles from top Chilean club O'Higgins FC as their new Director of South American Scouting. Sound good? ¡Absolutamente!

English sports media outlets are reporting an imminent deal between Wayne Rooney and D.C. United, although no announcement has yet been made as of ITB press time. The MLS mid-season transfer window does not open until July 10th, but Rooney could still potentially be in D.C. in time for United's Audi Field opener July 14th.

According to Black and Red United, Gabriel Gomez, the son of former United midfielder Christian Gomez, may be signing with D.C. We've already got a Harkes 2.0 - we could go for a Gomez 2.0!
On the Field
After an extended lightning delay, an early goal for each side, a controversial offside call, and a full 30 minutes of extra time, the 5th round Open Cup match against Orlando saw United ultimately bounced out of the competition on penalty kicks.
Silver Linings: Jalen Robinson saw field time on last Wednesday (and raised money for Playing for Pride), coming on as a late first-half sub. And United held Orlando scoreless for most of extra time despite being a man down. Why a man down? As Coach Olsen, put it, Chris Durkin is...ahem..."learning his physicality"...to the tune of a pair of yellow cards.
Next: United heads up to Massachusetts to take on New England, who is currently ranked 5th in the Eastern Conference.
