Screaming Eagles News & Events
Our home season is finally in full swing! Thanks to all those who came out to our first tailgate of the season on the 14th - it was a blast! Longtime SE members and brand-new friends met and mingled as all enjoyed beautiful waterfront views ahead of a thrilling Audi Field inaugural match. You can check out photos from the tailgate and the match here at our brand new gallery!
We will be tailgating before both games this week (and ahead of all home games this season) at the Earth Conservation Corps' Matthew Henson Center, a short two block walk from Audi Field.
All are welcome! Current SE members can drink for free; non-members can partake with purchase of a one-day membership. Kick back and enjoy beautiful river views - please join us!
7/25: D.C. v NYRB Tailgate: 5:30 - 7 pm
7/28: D.C. v COL Tailgate: 4 - 7 pm
Please be advised that the second floor of the Matthew Henson Center will be closed for Wednesday's tailgate. Our friends at the ECC have recently acquired two new raptors, and are hard at work building new enclosures upstairs for them. We do expect the second level to be accessible for Saturday's tailgate.

Tickets are electronic-only. You can download the United mobile phone app here.
Audi Field has a Clear Bag Policy in effect.
Rain is in the forecast for this Wednesday, so bring a jacket, but leave the umbrella behind - they are not permitted inside the stadium.
There are 6500 parking spaces nearby - United suggests reserving ahead of time with SpotHero.
DC SCORES and More
DC SCORES has a new home at Audi Field! In case you missed it, our favorite nonprofit partner has an awesome (and let's face it, adorable) new promotional video featuring their poet-athletes, as well as United coach Ben Olsen and several of Black-and-Red's finest. This rotating video spot will be featured on Audi Field's giant screen before every match and at halftime, all season long!
Please give a warm welcome to DC SCORES kids from Bancroft ES, Truesdell ES and Lincoln MS as well as a group of alumni and coaches at the midweek match! As part of a trilateral partnership between SE, DC SCORES, and D.C. United, groups of these wonderful poet-athletes will be able to attend United games free of cost, all season long as part of the Supporters' Development Academy in Section 138. Want to help lead the kids in cheers, or want to help them write their own? Let us know!

Amir Lowery, director of the Open Goal Project, is in the running for MLS Works Community MVP. The Open Goal Project strives to facilitate opportunities for soccer players from low-income households to have access to travel soccer and high-level soccer opportunities. They work to provide resources and break down barriers for these players, and in their own words,
"to use soccer as a vehicle for cultural enrichment, higher educational opportunities, and greater life experiences."
Amir has been selected as the finalist for D.C., but if he wins the Grand Prize, $25,000 will be donated to the Open Goal Project. The contest is open until August 1st, and you can vote once a day, so get started!
In the News
Tomorrow is United Night Out! This celebration of inclusiveness is sponsored by the Federal Triangles, who will be in attendance at the match, and is hosted by Team DC. Break out your pride gear and join the party!
We will be joined at this match by Washington Spirit players and special guests Joanna Lohman (who attended last year's UNO and drummed with us at the Audi Field inaugural), Estelle Johnson, and Francisca Ordega. Don't miss out!
The Federal Triangles will also be joining our Wednesday tailgate, so come join the fun!
On the Field
United's road trip to Atlanta last weekend started off with a promising note, as Zoltan Stieber scored the first goal of the match. Alas, that was the Black-and-Red's only goal of the match. Atlanta's golden boy Josef Martinez had himself another hat trick, and the game finished 3-1.
The Washington Spirit fared little better against the Houston Dash this weekend, losing 1-0 despite largely dominating the match.
Silver Lining: The Richmond Kickers held down the fort at home in their USL battle vs. ATL, earning a tie.
Enough recapping - we've got games to play this week! Let's face it: what could be a better way to end your Wednesday than celebrating United Night Out andyelling at the Metrostars?
D.C. United vs. NJ Red Bulls
Wednesday 7/25 @ 8 pm | Audi Field
On Saturday, Colorado comes to town. Will they be featuring newly-acquired USMNT MF Kellyn Acosta? Show up and find out!
D.C. United vs. Colorado Rapids
Saturday 7/28 @ 8 pm | Audi Field
Audi Field will be hopping all summer long, and we can't wait to see you at one of our tailgates - come join us! Membership is not required to join the tailgate party, but it does come with a number of benefits, so we hope you'll join in.
There are also plenty of opportunities to volunteer with us this season, whether with our tailgate crew, with the tifo team, or in leading drumming and cheers. Interested? Email email@example.com.
