Do you work for a company that makes and/or installs awnings? Send us an email! We're looking to have an awning installed over the back deck at the ECC, so that visitors can enjoy beautiful Anacostia River views even when it's rainy out.

Bus travel isn't the only kind of trip we're offering this season: how about a boat tour of the Anacostia River? We're offering a one-hour guided boat tour to learn about the natural and cultural history of this spot in our very own backyard. All proceeds benefit the ECC. Space is highly limited, so don't delay!
8.25: 1-2 pm (before the Washington Spirit match)
9.2: 4:30-5:30 pm (before DC vs ATL)
DC SCORES and More
Students from DC SCORES were out in force again in Section 138 for last weekend's game - we're delighted to see the Supporter's Academy up and running!

Last Sunday was also a historic day for the Special Olympics; after the D.C. - Orlando match, Special Olympics teams from both cities took the pitch for a match of their own, the first of its kind at Audi Field!
Last Thursday, members of the D.C. team were also treated to a tour of the new stadium by United Defender Steven Birnbaum, and a number of players from Special Olympics DC signed contracts with the team as part of the #InclusionRevolution.
In the News
Bill Hamid is back in black - errr, green...orange...or maybe blue? The point is, the much-beloved goalkeeper is back on the United roster (albeit on loan) after a season in Denmark.
In fact, Coach Olsen has indicated that with three games in eight days, Hamid will start tonight against Portland. With Joseph Mora wearing Hamid's old #28, the keeper has swapped to #24.
Both Hamid and newly acquired left back Vytas got their first taste of Audi Field before the match last week, and if you haven't seen the footage, it's pretty sweet.

Also on the player movement front, United have waived keeper Steve Clark. Clark joined the team a year ago, and is particularly memorable for the show-stopping, game-saving birthday performance he put in this April to maintain the shorthanded Black-and-Red's 1-0 victory over the Columbus Crew.
We wish Steve the very best!

United aren't the only ones hosting a Portland team this month. The NWSL's Washington Spirit is taking over Audi Field in less than two weeks for their battle with the Portland Thorns! Mallory Pugh and Rose Lavelle versus Tobin Heath and Lindsay Horan...this match is going to be explosive, so don't miss out!

Hey guys, good news: Wayne Rooney isn't just here to get paid. As if that still needed clarifying after Sunday night's performance.
On the Field
Did anyone get to sleep after Sunday's wild ride of a match? From Captain Rooney's game-saving tackle and game-winning cross to Luciano Acosta's hat trick, to the fact that the diminutive Acosta won the game in its waning moments with a header, we're still boggling.
Want to watch that last play again? You know you do.
You've got two more chances this week to witness firsthand the marvel of a pairing that is Rooney+Acosta:
D.C. United vs. Portland Timbers
Wednesday 8/15 @ 8 pm
Tailgate starts at 5:30 pm - 2000 Half Street SW
D.C. United vs. New England Revolution
Sunday 8/19 @ 7:30 pm
Tailgate starts at 4 pm - 2000 Half Street SW
(with special guests Men in Blazers!)
There are two more opportunities this week to join the party! Membership comes with plenty of benefits (including a new jersey), so consider signing up!
There are also a variety of ways to volunteer with us this season, whether with our tailgate crew, with the tifo team, or in leading drumming and cheers. Interested? Email email@example.com.
