Screaming Eagles News & Events
We have successfully escaped from New York, with a point to boot courtesy of "Big Dog" Birnbaum! Way to use your head, Steve and put us within reach of the playoffs!
Thanks to those of you who joined us at Yankee Stadium or at Across the Pond for our watch party. We were particularly thrilled to have United announcer Dave Johnson join us to watch the Black-and-Red put it IN THE NET!

Everyone is pitching in for Big Rob in his battle against leukemia, and you can too - it's easy!
For a limited time, you can buy a shirt with Dave Johnson's famous name and catchphrase (see photo), with all proceeds to benefit Rob's fund. These awesome shirts will only be available for another 11 days, so don't delay!
On Sunday ahead of the NYRB match, supporters will be manning donation buckets on behalf of Big Rob, at the main plaza outside Audi Field and in the concourses. Please give generously!
Want a third way to lend a hand? You can go directly to Rob's new GoFundMe site!
In the News
Focus on youth goes beyond the wild match against Mexico last night (aka the Caretaker Clásico) and Matt Miazga's successful Middle School playground antics will be fodder for tailgate discussion for many fans!
Don't miss Sportswriter Charles Boehm's exclusive look at D.C. United's revamped Academy program.
And while we're on the topic of soccer pipelines, the Richmond Kickers have announced a move to become a founding member of the USL's new Division III for the 2019 season.

Several Black-and-Red players have been away on international duty, so let's see what they've been up to...
Paul Arriola: played over half the match in the USMNT's loss to Brazil last Friday (friendly). Was released back to United ahead of last night's "friendly" victory over Mexico (thank you, Dave Sarachan).
Darren Mattocks: Scored two goals for the Reggae Boyz in Sunday's victory over the Cayman Islands, to kick off Jamaica's first match of the inaugural CONCACAF Nations League.
Bruno Miranda: Did not play in Bolivia's 2-2 draw Monday vs Saudi Arabia (friendly).
Junior Moreno: Played a full 90 Friday in Venezuela's loss to Colombia in Miami (friendly).
Zoltan Stieber: Did not play in Hungary's UEFA Nations League match Tuesday, in which they defeated Greece, 2-1.
Regardless of what Hurricane Florence brings this week, we plan on having a good time! Rain or shine, you are welcome to join us at the ECC before matches.
