Check it out: we've been profiled in Diehard Scarves' new blog series discussing successful supporters' groups! The piece features plenty of useful history about the organization, and an interview with out fantastic founder Matt Mathai - don't miss it!

Looking for a place to stash your car during matches this season? We've teamed up with the Earth Conservation Corps to offer a limited number of parking spaces (first come, first serve) this season at our tailgate site, the Matthew Henson Center. The cost is $400 for the 2019 season (including any playoff matches), and the money will go directly to the ECC to help fund their conservation and environmental cleanup efforts. Interested? Our Annual Members Meeting is coming up in less than two weeks. We'll talk about the upcoming season, and the direction of our club. Your input is welcome and our board members will be in attendance to take your questions. United GM Dave Kasper** will also join us for a Q&A with members. Plus, we've got a cash bar, and a raffle to benefit DC SCORES, featuring classic United memorabilia (you know you want a bobblehead).
**UPDATE: Dave Kasper will be unable to join us, but Richie Williams, former United player and coach of Loudoun United FC, has graciously offered to fill in!**
The meeting is members-only, but if you haven't signed up or renewed your membership yet, you can do so online ahead of time, or at the door. An RSVP is also needed, so we can plan appropriately.

There's still time to help our young friend Zach (center) in his fundraising efforts for month's Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics of Virginia!
Zach is nearly halfway to his $750 goal - If we all kick in a few bucks, he should be able to get to his target in no time!

In the News
The Black-and-Red kicked off their preseason matches over the weekend down in Florida with a 1-0 victory over Philadelphia USL associate team Bethlehem Steel FC. A number of new draft picks and signings showed their stuff, including defender Akeem Ward, and striker Shinya Kadono. Kadono, who is technically still a trialist, joined the match as an 18th-minute sub for Wayne Rooney (more on that shortly), and scored the game's lone goal.
Next up: United takes on MLS newcomers FC Cincinnati tomorrow night (Thursday at 7 pm) at IMG Academy in Bradenton. FCC features former United striker Darren Mattocks, picked up in the expansion draft. Expect to see United's Luciano Acosta, who did not play last week due to Ben Olsen's desire to let him rest after all that last-minute European travel.
This is the part where we'd usually tell you where and when you can watch this match, but as with last week's, there's no live feed or stream. So...Twitter updates it is!
Back to Rooney - the captain earned a bruised shin early in the match, eventually leaving the game despite initially attempting to play through it. However Steven Goff at WaPo reports that Rooney was back at training Tuesday morning and should be ready to play tomorrow.

Also ready to play are Paul Arriola and Russell Canouse, recently returned from USMNT January camp, and Joseph Mora, back from training and playing with Costa Rica. Arriola featured heavily in the recent 2-0 USA victory over Costa Rica, dominating the left flank and scoring a late goal. Is there any position he can't play? Mora also saw match time, but alas Canouse did not. Will he take it out on Cincy? We'll see.
Still need season tickets? We've still got space in the Perch (SEction 130). There are about 100 Screaming Eagles already in the section, and we have room for a few more! A season ticket will cost you $660 ($33/game) plus a $20 service fee. Email our ticket mistress if interested.
