There are just three days left until our Annual Members Meeting! Over one hundred of you have already sent us an RSVP, but we've got plenty of room for more!
Join us for a discussion of the the upcoming season and the direction of our club, as well as anything else you want to talk about: our board members will be in attendance to take your questions.
Help us sample and choose a new pizza to join the All-Purpose Capitol Riverfront menu, with $1 from each pie to be donated all season long to the Earth Conservation Corps! Plus a cash bar, and a raffle to benefit DC SCORES, featuring classic United memorabilia.
Dave Kasper will not be joining us as originally planned, but we've snagged new Loudoun United FC coach (and former DCU player) RIchie Williams for what's sure to be an awesome Q&A!
The meeting is members-only, but if you haven't signed up or renewed your membership yet, you can do so online ahead of time, or at the door. An RSVP is also needed, so we can plan appropriately.

Trying to figure out parking near Audi Field this season? According to the Parking Panda information United recently released, all five lots are near or over $500 for the season, and some are quite a hike from the stadium!
What if you could park two blocks away, spend only $400 for the season, and support an awesome nonprofit while you're at it?
We've teamed up with the Earth Conservation Corps to offer a limited number of parking spaces this season at our tailgate site, the Matthew Henson Center. The $400 fee covers the entire 2019 season including playoff matches, and the money will go directly to the ECC to help fund their conservation and environmental cleanup efforts.
Interested? This is first come, first serve, so don't delay! Sign up to receive more info.
Love (and Soccer) Make the World Go Round
Our friends over at Open Goal Project have a fantastic evening planned for the night before United's return to Audi Field!
Since 2015, Open Goal Project has served and supported hundreds of talented youth soccer players from low-income families in D.C. and beyond. They aid players in various ways, including covering registration and travel costs to facilitate play on competitive teams, coordinating high-level growth opportunities for our players including summer trips and camps, and offering professionally-run clinics and camps to players for free!
Take an evening off for a good cause, and enjoy drinks, appetizers, and photography spotlighting the stories of Open Goal athletes!

In the News
United's preseason match against new kids on the block FC Cincinnati last week proved to be a tale of two halves. The Black-and-Red dominated the first 45, with Luciano Acosta putting his team on the scoreboard. Ulises Segura, filling in for Wayne Rooney as he recovers from a bruised shin, apparently made
quite the nuisance of himself up top for FCC defenders!
However, after a slew of subs, the new lineup couldn't quite hold it together, giving up a tying goal late in the second half.
Next Up: After a few days in D.C., our traveling team heads back to Florida for the rest of their preseason, starting with a match this Saturday against the Tampa Bay Rowdies as part of the Suncoast Invitational.

We've got a few player updates to discuss...
Chris McCann, a quality midfielder/defender recently placed on the waiver wire by Atlanta, has joined the team. The Irishman's green card means he will not cost the team an international slot. He won't cost much, period! Despite his base salary of over half a million dollars, United is spending the senior minimum fee of about $70K. Thanks, Atlanta!
Veteran forward and former Montreal striker Quincy Amerikwa is reportedly signing with the team as a free agent. This deal is not yet completely done, but according to Steve Goff at WaPo, Amerikwa has agreed to contract terms.
United draft pick Shinya Kadono, who distinguished himself by scoring the lone goal in the first preseason match, is expected to sign with United's new USL affiliate, Loudoun United FC. DCU homegrown Antonio Bustamante is expected to join him.
Draft pick Leo Alves is no longer training with the Black-and-Red, and has not been seen at Loudoun's training camp either.
Former United GK Travis Worra, whose contract was not renewed in the off-season, has officially announced his retirement. Travis is not only a quality keeper, but a quality human being, and one the best emcees for the Toys and Toddies raffle we've ever had! TRA-VIS WOR-RA! * clap clap - clap clap clap*

The Spirit have also published their preseason schedule, in case you'd like to catch a match.
