Congratulations to SE member Dustin Garrison, who won the naming contest for our new All-Purpose Capitol Riverfront Pizza. Enjoy your free pizza on us, Dustin!
The winning entry? L'Aquila - Italian for "The Eagle".
As $1 will be donated to the Earth Conservation Corps for every one of these pizzas sold this season, it's perfect! The pizza is delicious; come try it for yourself at one of our post-match get-togethers at AP this season.

Earlier in the off-season, D.C. United announced a multiyear broadcast partnership with FloSports to provide both live and on-demand coverage for the majority of home and away matches. A number of supporters were concerned about the cost of paying for this service, but the club promised a special discount to season ticket holders, as well as to all members of the three major supporters' groups.

Art + Soccer = Life
Our friends at Open Goal Project will be busy this weekend, and you're invited. Head on over to 15th St. to enjoy art for a good cause: an evening of food, drink, and art celebrating the stories of Open Goal athletes.
These young men and women are talented soccer players from low-income families, and Open Goals aims to level the playing field for them. See you there!

So...the end of that preseason could have gone better. Following a 1-0 loss to Philadelphia and a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Montreal, supporters are hoping that United has shaken off the last of the cobwebs and is ready to go this weekend.

If you haven't seen Pablo Maurer's piece in The Athletic about some of the awesome away kit designs that were rejected in favor of the #MLSKitsSoWhite trend currently surging through the league, do yourself a favor and check it out. We could have had a cherry blossom uniform! *sigh*

The SheBelieves Cup kicked off yesterday in the buildup to this summer's Women's World Cup in France. The USWNT, despite an offensively dominant performance, could not hold it together at the other end of the pitch.
They gave up a stoppage-time goal to opponent Japan, and had to settle for a 2-2 draw. On the bright side, Washington Spirit attackers Rose Lavelle and Mallory Pugh both started and saw significant field time.
The weather forecast for Sunday is definitely sub-optimal, but we'll be cozy inside tailgating at the Earth Conservation Corps. Please join us, starting at 2 pm. Want to volunteer to help out at the tailgate? Sign up!
Be sure to bundle up this weekend, but if you need a little extra warmth, we'll have some of our awesome scarves for sale to help keep you nice and toasty.
