Escape From New York
A point and a Team of the Week performance from our goalkeeper in United's first road trip of the season? We'll take it! Thanks to those of you who joined us at Yankee Stadium to cheer on the team - at least one sports reporter commented on Sunday that although vastly outnumbered, United fans were just as loud as the NYCFC fans. Good work, folks!

Additional thanks to the folks who turned out at Across the Pond for our watch party! By now everyone is familiar with the disappointing first-half debacle that was the Flo Sports feed. We are grateful to our gracious hosts at Across the Pond for providing free beverages by way of apology to frustrated supporters, even though the issue was not their fault!
If you missed the watch party, no worries - you can catch us there for all away matches. FloSports has issued an apology - more news on that front as it is made available.
With the weather finally behaving like actual spring, it's time for our home match! Now's your chance to help bid retiring RSL (and United legend) goalkeeper Nick Rimando farewell...by beating his team.
D.C. United vs Real Salt Lake
Saturday 3.16 @ 8 pm
Tailgate starts at 4 pm | 2000 Half Street SW
Grab a reserved seat in Section 135 or General Admission in Sections 136 and 137 now!
Not sure how our tailgates work? Here's a rundown:
Attendance is open and free to all.
Volunteers are always needed to help out.
Day memberships are $15 for bottomless beer and cider, or $5 for bottomless water and soda. If you don't want to drink anything, you don't need to pay anything.
Or....you can buy a season membership for $30, and drink for free at all of our tailgates, all season long! Plus new members get an SE jersey. So if you plan on drinking at two or more tailgates, save some cash and become a member!
Food is usually available for a small donation to our non-profit hosts, the Earth Conservation Corps.
We typically close the bar 30-45 minutes prior to kickoff to give our volunteers time to pack it up and get to the stadium.

See you Saturday!
Spring Scores is Off and Running!
The DC SCORES winter season is over, and #SpringScores has commenced! This 12-week session combines twice-weekly soccer practice, regular matches, and group service learning activities at local elementary and middle schools. For more information, check out their latest blog post.
DC SCORES is looking for volunteers, too. Interested in helping coach a team, or perhaps in refereeing a few matches? Sign up today!
Plus, it's only three short months until the Jamboree! This is the biggest DC SCORES event of the year: a combined soccer tournament and community festival. In 2019 it's going to be even bigger than ever, taking place over not one but two weekends! This event is all hands on deck, so please sign up to volunteer today!
This Weekend Will be Un-Real
Sunday proved a goalkeeper's duel, as both NYCFC's Sean Johnson and our own superstar Bill Hamid (celebrating his 200th for the Black-and-Red) came up with gorgeous, critical saves to keep the match scoreless. Coach Ben Olsen, quoted in the WaPo, summed it up as such:
"Probably a coin flip over the course of that game [as to which team deserved to win]. I feel good with a point. I would feel better if we had three points. But I think they are probably saying the same thing."
One thing's for sure: we agree with defender Steve Birnbaum, who referred to the team as "a little spoiled" by Hamid's stellar performance. Keep it up, Bill!
Next: Real Salt Lake @ Audi Field, Saturday at 8 pm. Vamos!

Congratulations to Paul Arriola for scoring his second call up of the year to the USMNT! We couldn't be happier for him.
Camp for upcoming friendly matches starts this Sunday - we look forward to seeing him earn even more time on the pitch for the Red, White and Blue.
Russell Canouse and Bill Hamid did not make this roster - we can only conclude that Coach Berhalter hasn't been watching the defensive half of the field during United's matches so far this season.
Ready for the next home match? The tailgate for the RSL match on the 16th starts at 4 pm. More tailgate volunteers are always welcome - we don't bite!
At the end of this month the team heads to Orlando. Want to go? We've got tickets...
