STANDING UP FOR D.C. UNITED SINCE 1995
For the Kids
One of our favorite Screaming Eagles traditions is our annual holiday party, Toys and Toddies. This event is open to all members of the D.C. United community. Attendees are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to local kids, or a small monetary donation (for charity) in lieu of a toy.
We enjoy great food and drink, raffle off amazing prizes, and auction off spectacular United memorabilia. Recent items have included a signed Bill Hamid jersey, a signed pair of Steve Birnbaum's cleats, and a signed canvas print of Luciano Acosta.
If United isn't playing in that year's MLS Cup (boo), we'll put that up for you to watch and yell at too!

Special United guests are also often in attendance, including current players.

The toys collected are wrapped and distributed to their young poet-athletes at a local school, with the help of players from the D.C. United Youth Academy. The funds raised via Toys and Toddies admission fees, raffles, and the silent auction are donated to DC SCORES.
At our last Toys for Toddies in 2019, we gave away over 150 toys, donated over $2000 to DC SCORES, and raffled off SE gear and DC United items signed by players (including then-player Wayne Rooney). While the pandemic has put a hold on the gatherings, we hope to resume the tradition in 2023.
