DC United 0-3 New England Revolution, August 19, 2026

The New England Revolution outclassed DC United to break DC's six game unbeaten streak (5 of which were draws) on a poorly attended Wednesday night game.

DC is still without Kye Rowles (thigh injury), and it showed, but the issues were deeper than that.

DC's lineup:

Johnson in goal

Kurokawa, Nealis, Bartlett, Hefti in defense

Hopkins, Dozzell, Peltola, Nono in midfield

Baribo, Munteanu at forward

Subs: Ordaz for Hopkins (halftime), Servania for Nealis (halftime), Kijima for Munteanu (68th), Markovic for Nono (68th), Stroud for Dozzell (90th).

DC played well and had some chances in the first half, but could not get the finishing touch for a goal. The best chance was a nice cross to the far post by Munteanu, but Nono could only head it high. Munteanu also had two promising shots go high.

New England's Alhassan Yusuf opened the scoring in the 23rd minute as he was left unmarked in the middle of four DC defenders and headed in easily. 1-0 New England. Yusuf doubled the lead just before halftime as Kurokawa was caught ball-watching at the far post, putting DC in a two-goal hole at halftime.

DC played hard the first part of the second half after two halftime substitutions, but could not produce anything threatening. After the 60 minute mark New England began to turn up the heat. Johnson made three great saves but could not keep Yusuf from completing his hat trick in the 66th minute. Yusuf may have been offside but New England's dominance was unquestioned. Matt Turner made a nice save on Ordaz to preserve the shutout.

DC definitely misses Rowles, but they just looked a step behind the whole game. Not a good outing.
