A rendering of Q2 Stadium in Austin, TX
DC almost held on for a tough road draw against Austin FC on Sunday, March 1, but failure to properly clear a cross let Austin's Christian Ramirez score in the 82nd minute, and Austin won 1-0.
DC started:
Johnson in goal
Kurokawa, Rowles, Bartlett, Hefti in defense
Hosei Kijima, Servania, Peltola, Jared Stroud in midfield
Peglow, Baribo at forward
Subs: Hopkins for Stroud (46th minute), Pirani for Kijima (46th minute), Munteanu for Peglow (78th minute), Markovic for Servania (90th minute)
While the possession difference was not extreme (55% Austin to 45% DC), Austin dominated the game. They had 18 shots to DC's 7, 9 shots on goal (to DC's 2) and 10 corner kicks (to DC's 4). Sean Johnson made multiple good saves, and the defense was mostly disciplined, except on corner kicks.
