Totally normal Wednesday morning. No relevant news to discuss..................... ..................................................................................................... ...................................................................................................... ....................................................................................................... ....................................................................................................... ......................................................................................................... ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Sigh. ........................................................................................................ ........................................................................................................ ........................................................................................................ ........................................................................................................ ........................................................................................................ ........................................................................................................ Welp, Losada is gone. Pretty bizarre firing if you ask me. I mean, he was hired and almost made the playoffs with a team of players who he inherited. He still doesn't have a full roster, and he's canned only 7 games into the season. Reading Goff's tweets it seems like not all the players were loving his coaching style. But if that's the case, I'm a believer that the players should go, not the manager. It's not like we have players who can't be replaced anyway. I think there was obviously some backroom discontent. After all, Losada did publicly call out the front office more than once. Probably justifiably so, as well.
Maybe the FO read my last blog where I called out Losada in the Austin FC game. lol. If you guys are reading - please make better decisions.. thanks. Now, am I a Losada backer? I was on the fence. Honestly, I do not think his system would work... but that is because I just got finished watching Stephen Glass manage Aberdeen FC in Scotland. Glass was hired from Atlanta United and played the EXACT same system as Losada. The promise was more goals, up-tempo, and exciting play. Sometimes it worked... but most of the time it didn't because you need very specific players in order to execute that system correctly. And even if you have the right players, they need to stay healthy... which as you can see now, is difficult. The system CAN work... but it's better suited for higher spending clubs with more depth and talent. Stephen Glass fired halfway through his first season... unfortunately Hernan Losada succumbs to a similar fate.
But maybe Losada would have done better than glass. I think he deserved a shot. Is another manager going to come in here and turn this team into a playoff team? From what I've seen, I don't think so. What's the urgency?
I dont know man... I just dont know.
