DC United drew 0-0 with NYCFC at Audi Field last night (May 14).

It was DC Scores night at Audi, and approximately 1300 poet-athletes from various DC schools attended the game. Some of the students are shown above and below.

DC started

Barraza in goal

Rowles, Bartlett, Tubbs in defense

Schnegg, Enow, Peltola, Herrera in midfield

Leal, Benteke, Kijima at forward

Subs: Murrell for Benteke (20th), Servania for Enow (59th), Zouhir for Leal (59th), Stroud for Kijima (59th), Jackson Hopkins for Peltola (81st ). Good to see Hopkins back.

Benteke went out with an ankle injury in the 20th minute, and DC was pretty toothless on offense for most of the game. Zouhir had a good shot saved in the 66th minute, and Schnegg shot right at the keeper off a corner kick in the 79th, but that was basically it. Fortunately, Barraza had a fantastic game in goal, making six saves (several spectacular) and being helped by the woodwork twice (in the 11th and 65th minutes). DC was dominated in possession (58% to 42%), shot attempts (15 to 5) and corner kicks (9 to 4) but it was even on the final scoresheet.

There were scattered showers throughout the region but fortunately not during the game. The students seemed to have fun. Well done DC Scores.

The fast and furious two-games-a-week in May continues this Saturday, May 17 when DC travels to play Nashville FC at 830pm.
